About the biketrip:
COMPLETED!
Congratulations to Nate Swinton, Dan Meade, Harly Drum, and Danny Drum. These four young men accomplished a wonderful feat. They spent the past two months riding their bicycles from the coastline of Oregon to the history rich east coast town of Yorktown, Virginia. Along the way to the Atlantic Ocean, the riders were able to provide wonderful, entertaining, and good hearted stories. Whether we read how they were able to conquer the Rockies, fixing an unusual amount of flat tires, or the sincerity of people's paths they crossed, it kept us coming back to hear more. If you choose to show your thanks and congratulations, do not hesitate to email your remarks to the bikers. Thank you for your visit and interest.UPDATE (August 3rd, 2004):
The end is near for these great adventurers and we all here at qball.org wish that the journey could still continue. What great stories and updates these four were able to provide for the many that were following along with them. We have received some great feedback for this basic site, as well as some thanks from Cancer Patient Care that we felt we should pass along to everyone who donated what they could to this great organization. Enjoy the newest email and the new pictures we received from the biketrippers themselves. (We apologize for the lack of info other than the title for the photos).
A former colleague of qball.org informed us that he, and three others were planning a cross country bicycle trip. The two month excursion would challenge these four young men to twist and turn on roads from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. Their cause? Charity: donations for Cancer Patient Care.
This introduction is limited in information. Hopefully, as the trip continues, we will be able to pass on important information, such as:
And of course, most of us are already asking why these four young men chose to face mountains, canyons, rain, lighting, speeding trucks, and over 3000 miles to accomplish this? We think no matter the answer, they are facing a mighty challenge and an even larger reward when completed.
- Where do they plan to end this biketrip?
- What states are they going through?
- Don't your legs get tired?
Our personal interest built after receiving a few updates as they began their trek through Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. Their stories and observations, while brief, were enough for us to think that others would certainty be entertained to follow these men across our great nation. And after given the OK from my friend, we hastily put together this little site to not only for entertainment to everyone, but also to build encouragement from any one who wishes to extend their support for these young men.
If you do find yourself coming here to check in on the whereabouts of these bicyclist, please take a moment of your time to make a donation for their cause. Also, if you have any comments, questions, or other moral support do not hesitate to contact us at questions@biketrip.qball.org and we will be sure to pass the information along to the riders.
Thank you,
qball.org authors
